Calgary Bootcamp workouts that are Safe, Effective and FUN

Most fitness bootcamps in Calgary are boring and taught by instructors with only a weekend course. They don’t know how to properly modify a workout for YOUR needs. This means you are at higher risk of injury and getting injured defeats the purpose of starting an exercise plan!

At our Calgary fitness bootcamp you will exercise in a fun, effective and highly encouraging environment. I know you will have a lot of FUN, and do many completely new and motivating exercises that will produce improvements within even the first session!

If you are bored of doing the same exercises in the same old-fashioned way, give the best fitness bootcamp in Calgary a go. I promise you will love every minute of it! Here are a few more compelling reasons to get started today!

Challenge your limits…within reason

This doesn’t mean that we will push you to extremes. The term “fitness bootcamp” means many things to many different people. Some military based camps will have you pushing cars up a steep hill, carrying heavy logs through the forest, and crossing snowy creeks in the winter! On the other side of the coin, I’ve seen a simple low impact aerobics class called a “bootcamp”.

Our Calgary Fitness Bootcamp certainly isn’t those things. We take the concepts of Personal Training, and challenge every person to their own individual level in a group environment. Your experience in our fitness bootcamp will introduce you to a wide range of effective exercises that are perfectly designed to help you reach your goals.

Our expert Personal Trainers certainly won’t do anything to cause you physical injury, but they will push you to work harder than you normally would on your own. They will challenge your psychological and physical limits and you’ll become stronger than ever. This atmosphere of physical and mental accomplishment will also helps you build a stronger personality, self-esteem and self-worth. Those benefits will help you in all areas of life.

Calgary Fitness bootcamp workouts are optimized in every way to help you succeed

Highly competent Personal Training professionals devise your bootcamp training modules. We optimize every component of your program to include effective strength and endurance training, cardiovascular training, agility and flexibility training options. PLUS, you will have top quality holistic nutrition coaching throughout your journey.

As a result, you will become stronger, slim and lean in about half the time than you’d spend in a traditional Gym. You will also have improved flexibility, posture, energy and cardiovascular fitness levels.

I assure you that Calgary Fitness Bootcamp will transform your body, lifestyle and minset to prepare you for high stress real life situations better than ever. (Hey, my goal is to have you be successful in whatever life throws at you!)

So, if you have been making excuses for avoiding exercise you now have some great “excuses” for enrolling in our Calgary fitness bootcamp training program! Get started today…your first week is FREE!

Calgary Fitness Bootcamp instructor teaches the most common ways Bootcamp participants get injured...and how to avoid them!

Joining a Calgary fitness bootcamp has many benefits. But, many a times people push themselves so hard that they end up getting injured. In this article, I will covera few things in a fitness bootcamp that can get you hurt. Safety is important in all fitness programs, but bootcamp classes often produce higher injury rates. Aside from physical damage they do, injuries can seriously hamper your progress and can have long term negative effects.

Here, in our Calgary bootcamp we do everything possible to minimize your risk of getting injured. The first step is to inform you through articles like this.

So, here are few things you as a participant can keep in mind to avoid getting hurt. If you are prepared for your bootcamp experience well in advance, you’ll avoid most of the common fitness bootcamp injuries.

Wear The Right Shoes

Bootcamp workouts normally include high impact drills, exercises and multi-directional moves. You must wear a shoe that provides good foot protection, traction and lateral support. Cross trainers and trail running shoes are ideal because of the lateral support and traction.

Wearing the wrong shoe or worn out shoes increases your risk of injury to feet, ankles, knees, hips, and low back. Get your shoes right to train right!

Do a proper warm up

Warming up is essential no matter where you’re training, in a gym, with a personal trainer or in a fitness bootcamp. A good warm up will prepare your body for the strenuous exercise. You will also get maximum benefits out of your workouts if you are doing your warm-ups correctly.

Our Calgary fitness bootcamp training starts with dynamic warm up exercises. The instructors always include a bit of mobility, movement skill training and pre-workout exercises so your body can properly adapt itself for the rigorous workouts that follow.

Know your limits

Do not stretch or push yourself too hard. I know human body is capable of doing some extraordinary things but pushing it too far repeatedly is a sure-fire way to injury. With that being said, in Calgary fitness bootcamp you will workout harder than you ever thought possible. There’s no need to worry, we are experienced professionals and will guide you through it safely!

You’re the only one who can tell what your body is feeling. Fatigue is expected and is often more challenging than you anticipated. However, sharp PAIN is never a good thing!

Do not merely push through exercises for the sake of finishing an exercise or workout. If you feel pain, it is very important to STOP immediately and TELL your instructor.

Tell your trainer about your body ailments

A good trainer (like the ones at Calgary fitness bootcamp) will ask you at the start of each session if you have any injuries, aches, pains, or comments since the last workout.

If you feel “off”, are injured, have not properly recovered from the last training session, or are suffering from any ailment that could negatively affect your Calgary bootcamp workout, be sure to provide the details to your instructor in advance. If you are experiencing pain while performing a particular drill, doing a particular cardio exercise or anything, just tell him or her. It is important to keep your instructor informed so the necessary steps to prevent an injury can be taken.

Get enough protein in your nutritional plan

Protein is the building block of muscles. Your body needs more protein as your activity level increases. Ensuring enough protein in your diet will help in faster repair and recovery from exercise and prevent risks of injury by building a solid muscular system.

These tips are the basics you must keep in mind when starting an exercise plan. When you enroll in Calgary Bootcamp Training, here are a few other quick guidelines…

Avoid processed foods as much as possible (eat only whole, natural, and unprocessed foods)

Get 7 or ideally 8 hours sleep each night

Get to bed by 10pm

Drink plenty of water all day, every day (1/2 oz per pound of body weight per day).

So, now that you have the most important tips, and tools to avoid injury in your Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, it’s time to show up, work hard, have FUN, and get amazing results! See you at camp!

Not all Fitness Bootcamps are created equal!

Before you invest your hard earned money and future health into any Fitness Bootcamp program, it must pass the quality test! Here is a list of questions for you to ask about the Bootcamp program. You should be able to answer YES to ALL of these questions to make sure you are getting the best value and results from your investment!

Is the Bootcamp taught by a certified personal fitness trainer? It’s important to verify the trainer’s credentials

Make sure they did not acquire their certification online

They should have MUCH more than a weekend course (surprisingly, that is ALL many “trainers” have!

Is the trainer experienced? Many camps are taught by inexperienced people, former Bootcamp participants, or students who haven’t finished their educational requirements yet.

Many of these trainers do not have the appropriate insurance for the camps

Sometimes

Are the exercises modified to your fitness level. If they’re not modified to fit your ability, then you should not be in that Boot Camp.

Many camps take a “All or None” approach where everyone struggles to keep up with the fittest people and those who can’t either get injured or quit. This is typical of “military” style Bootcamp programs.

If you’ve answered YES to the first question, a qualified trainer will be able to create a workout to challenge any person to their OWN individual fitness and experience level

Rarely

Does the workout combine ALL of the essential components of fitness:

Resistance Training (Strength and Endurance)

Cardiovascular Training

Core Training

Balance

Agility and Coordination

Flexibility

Metabolic Conditioning

NOTE: Most camps neglect one or more of these essential components that are important in helping you achieve the results you want!

Surprisingly Uncommon

Does the camp combine these three essential things that you are looking for (even if you might not know it yet)?

IS IT FUN: Exercise should be enjoyable and you should look forward to doing it. Otherwise you won’t continue…and will go back to the physical state that frustrated you in the first place!

DOES IT WORK: Results are the reason you are attending. There is a reason why people don’t like traditional health clubs…THEY DON’T WORK! Your Bootcamp should get the results you want…and then some!

IS THERE VARIETY: As mentioned above, there are a lot of components to overall fitness. A good program should continually be changing, providing you with new fitness experiences, introducing you to new styles of training, equipment, and keeping your body producing results! Very few camps are able to do this effectively, but Bootcamp 101 is the Calgary Bootcamp that does!

NO WAY!

Does the Bootcamp offer an UNCONDITIONAL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE?

This is unheard of in the industry because most Bootcamp programs are not focussed on results. They are taught by inexperienced instructors, are poorly designed, and merely focussed on taking your money.

Bootcamp 101 Calgary provides you full security and peace of mind by first of all offering you a FREE Week of Unlimited sessions to try us out. Second, if after 30 days you are not completely satisfied and would like your money back, we will refund your investment with no hassles at all!

That’s how confident we are in our Bootcamp program and the results it will get you!

Maybe for a single class

Do You Get to “Test Drive” the Camp for FREE?

See the question above! Bootcamp 101 Calgary offers a FREE Week to make sure our program is the best fit for you!

NO

Can You Start ANY TIME?

Virtually ever camp has set start and end times, so if you miss the start date, you are stuck waiting for 4-6 weeks until another camp begins. That’s just frustrating and only feeds the trap of procrastination because by the time the session starts you aren’t as motivated anymore!

At Bootcamp 101, we do things differently and work on a monthly membership basis (no need to worry, unlike your health club, there are NO CONTRACTS to lock you in). That means YOU CAN START ANY TIME!

Usually nothing

Do I get anything else besides the workouts?

Some camps will do a quick body fat test and maybe a cheesy handout on nutrition, but Bootcamp 101 goes the extra mile for YOU! Here are just a few of the things that are included with your Bootcamp 101 membership:

A Weekly Nutrition Coaching Session from our Holistic Coaches

Monthly Body Composition and Measurements to Chart Your Results

Monthly Photos (optional) to keep you motivated

Bootcamp 101 Success Toolkit

Contains important information, articles, recipes, tips, etc.

Unlimited email and phone support

The BEST workouts you have ever experienced (even if you are already fit)!

Depends on the Camp

Does the Bootcamp Provide a Positive, Motivating Environment?

At Bootcamp 101 we believe it’s our job to inspire and guide you to change your life. Sure, you started out wanting to get in better shape and lose a few pounds, but that’s only the surface stuff. Our goal is to help you see that those surface goals are only a nice byproduct of changing your behaviour, thoughts and entire outlook on life!

Without doing this, you will be doomed to the frustration of trying to lose the same 1o or 20 pounds over and over again throughout your life. And that would completely suck! That’s why we go the extra mile in everything we do!

NO

Can you attend any time slot throughout the week?

With almost every camp out there, you pick your times before camp and are locked into those time slots (and days of the week).

With Bootcamp 101, you can attend any of our classes throughout the week, regardless of the day or time. We know you have a busy schedule and that sometimes life is unpredictable, so we’ve made it easy and eliminated the excuse that causes most people to struggle with consistency. To make it even easier, all of our scheduling is done online and you can log in to your own account in our system. It’s super easy!

Rarely

Does the Camp provide Indoor and Outdoor Class Options

Most camps are one or the other. Indoor or Outdoor. At Bootcamp 101, we provide indoor and outdoor options each week and members can choose which sessions they would like to attend.
