Calgary Bootcamp workouts that are Safe, Effective and FUN

Most fitness bootcamps in Calgary are boring and taught by instructors with only a weekend course. They don’t know how to properly modify a workout for YOUR needs. This means you are at higher risk of injury and getting injured defeats the purpose of starting an exercise plan!

At our Calgary fitness bootcamp you will exercise in a fun, effective and highly encouraging environment. I know you will have a lot of FUN, and do many completely new and motivating exercises that will produce improvements within even the first session!

If you are bored of doing the same exercises in the same old-fashioned way, give the best fitness bootcamp in Calgary a go. I promise you will love every minute of it! Here are a few more compelling reasons to get started today!

Challenge your limits…within reason

This doesn’t mean that we will push you to extremes. The term “fitness bootcamp” means many things to many different people. Some military based camps will have you pushing cars up a steep hill, carrying heavy logs through the forest, and crossing snowy creeks in the winter! On the other side of the coin, I’ve seen a simple low impact aerobics class called a “bootcamp”.

Our Calgary Fitness Bootcamp certainly isn’t those things. We take the concepts of Personal Training, and challenge every person to their own individual level in a group environment. Your experience in our fitness bootcamp will introduce you to a wide range of effective exercises that are perfectly designed to help you reach your goals.

Our expert Personal Trainers certainly won’t do anything to cause you physical injury, but they will push you to work harder than you normally would on your own. They will challenge your psychological and physical limits and you’ll become stronger than ever. This atmosphere of physical and mental accomplishment will also helps you build a stronger personality, self-esteem and self-worth. Those benefits will help you in all areas of life.

Calgary Fitness bootcamp workouts are optimized in every way to help you succeed

Highly competent Personal Training professionals devise your bootcamp training modules. We optimize every component of your program to include effective strength and endurance training, cardiovascular training, agility and flexibility training options. PLUS, you will have top quality holistic nutrition coaching throughout your journey.

As a result, you will become stronger, slim and lean in about half the time than you’d spend in a traditional Gym. You will also have improved flexibility, posture, energy and cardiovascular fitness levels.

I assure you that Calgary Fitness Bootcamp will transform your body, lifestyle and minset to prepare you for high stress real life situations better than ever. (Hey, my goal is to have you be successful in whatever life throws at you!)

So, if you have been making excuses for avoiding exercise you now have some great “excuses” for enrolling in our Calgary fitness bootcamp training program! Get started today…your first week is FREE!

Calgary Fitness Bootcamp instructor talks about 5 important things you need to consider before joining any Fitness Bootcamp Calgary

Deciding to join a Calgary fitness bootcamp is a big decision that will have a great impact on your life. You have certain health and fitness goals that you want to reach and this is a great way to achieve them.

Perhaps you want to see yourself in great shape, want to boost your energy levels or you are just fed up of traditional and boring Gym workouts. Whatever be the case, there are a few things that you must consider before embarking on a journey of health, wellness and success.

Get a physical examination done. A regular annual physical exam from a doctor is a necessity for everybody, but if it’s been a while for you, getting a “check-up” prior to your camp is a good idea. This is especially important if you have any injuries, ailments, or health conditions that may affect your fitness bootcamp training program and that your instructor should know about.

Write down your fitness goals. We all have expectations when starting a fitness program, but they are much more likely to become reality when they are written down on paper. This makes them more “tangible” and from here we can fine tune them to even greater success. Essentially, through SMART goal setting, we will turn them from DREAMS INTO REALITY!

Rev up your mental engine for success. If you are considering starting a fitness bootcamp in Calgary, there is likely a burning desire to make a change. Something has finally come to the surface that has spurred you to take action. This is good and will be great fuel for the starting phase of your training.

However, digging deeper to find out WHY you really want to change will help you stay focused and motivated over the longer term. This will help you avoid half-hearted attempts at change and the reason most people quit a program (they were never really committed in the first place).

Organize yourself. Managing time is important. You’ll need to organize yourself and life in a way that not only you find time for your Calgary fitness bootcamp but also have sufficient time for other activities such as adequate sleep, grocery shopping and healthy eating.

Lack of time is one of the main reasons why people say they don’t exercise or haven’t started a plan. To be honest, it’s a lame excuse. Everyone is busy and everyone has the same number of hours in the day. Yet, many people are able to lead healthy active lives. It really comes down to setting priorities and committing yourself to getting things done.

Some women say they have a fear of exercising in front of men and that they would only join a bootcamp program for women. If this sounds like you, I urge you to reconsider for the following reasons…

Most “meat-market” gyms have created this fear and those places have less to do with exercise than about being seen and “flirting”.

At Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, we are about getting people in the best shape of their lives and making positive changes in their health, nutrition and exercise habits. Every person (male or female) is there for the same reason and is focussed on their own results…not what you look like or what level of fitness you are at.

Our programs are designed to challenge each person to their individual level and provide a “level playing field”. This is a unique approach that virtually NO other fitness bootcamp programs in Calgary are doing.

In life you will be exposed to men, and potentially in a situation where (gasp!) you are sweating! You may as well get over those pesky insecurities and get used to interacting with the opposite gender in this safe and friendly environment.

The rationale for feeling more comfortable in a women-only fitness bootcamp is just an excuse for not trying a proven fitness bootcamp system and for clinging to false stereotypes that all men are creepy guys who will be mentally undressing you the entire workout or criticizing your body shape. In fact, we know that women are MUCH more critical of each other in those situations! Also, men starting a fitness program are in the same situation as you: overweight, out of shape, insecure, and desperately wanting to change the situation!

Calgary Fitness bootcamps are perfectly suited for a busy lifestyle. 55 to 60 minutes high intensity sessions help you burn fat and get back in shape fast. You get maximum results in minmum time.

Add to that the social benefits of meeting a group of people determined to get fit, healthy, and improve their lifestyles and you have a great mix of motivation, inspiration, and a build in support system!

So, if you have been shying away from joining a Calgary Fitness bootcamp because it allows men to participate, you now have some very good reasons to make a move in the right direction and get better results in your fitness AND life! Take action today and sign up for your FREE week. We even guarantee results or your money back!

Tim Borys is a Personal Trainer and Calgary Fitness Bootcamp Instructor with over 20 years of professional training and coaching experience. He is the owner of FRESH!

There are many different reasons that people have for joining fitness bootcamp training. Some do it for to feel better and live a more active lifestyle, some to re-shape their body, some for fat burning and muscle toning while others just do it to remain in good shape.

What is YOUR number one reason for joining a Calgary Fitness Bootcamp? I have compiled a few tips that will help you get the best results. Following these tips will get you in shape much faster than you ever thought possible..

1. Write down your Goals. Write down clear specific fitness goals you expect from your bootcamp training. These will help you stay motivated. Remember, all of your goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented and Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive).

2. Eat right for your metabolic type.

Everybody has unique nutritional needs that change regularly based on our activity levels, metabolic type, and our physical environment. This is the primary reason that regular “diets” will work for some people (for a short time), but not others.

The expert coaches at Calgary Fitness Bootcamp will teach you how to optimize your nutrition for any situation that life throws at you. No more counting calories, weighing food, or crazy fad diets! Just sensible eating habits that are flexible enough to adapt with you and your needs.

3. Be CONSISTENT! Whether it is nutrition, exercise, sleep habits, or any of the other lifestyle changes that you have made, being consistent with your behaviour is the most important thing you can do.

Small changes applied over the long term can produce enormous results. Big changes are great too and will work for some people, but the problem is that many are not sustainable. Use SMART goal setting, and continually re-evaluate the direction of your progress throughout your journey

4. Work Hard & Challenge Yourself. During each session you trainer at Calgary Fitness Bootcamp will ensure that you are motivated to put in a great effort. However, you will also need challenge yourself physically and mentally to get outside your comfort zone within and outside your sessions.

5. Rest Hard & Recover Properly. Give your body the chance to repair itself. Get 8 hours sleep, do your exercise and recovery “homework” between sessions to keep your body and mind energized for Calgary bootcamp training.

6. It’s all about YOU. Your body composition, its physical limits, and your reasons for attending are different than every other participant. While comparisons for friendly competition and challenge are OK at times, it is counterproductive to base your happiness and progress on what other people are doing. Map out your goals, give 100 % to your training, be consistent with your changes and you will be in complete control of your own results! The team at Calgary fitness Bootcamp will provide the motivation, direction, and encouragement along the way!

7. Keep a track of your progress. It is important for motivation and accountability to track your progress. We start with an initial assessment and provide regular updates. Tracking other progress on your own is also helpful. Things like nutrition, sleep habits, and performance in your life activities will provide you with added mental fuel to keep going.

8. Learn to be Disciplined. As mentioned above, consistency is the main key to results. Being disciplined means teaching yourself to stick to your plan on a minute to minute and daily basis. Temptations will be everywhere and it will be easy to fall back into unhealthy routines. Remind yourself of why you are making changes and what you need to do to make those changes (we will provide that information). Then take action consistently and in the face of those daily challenges. This is what sets successful people apart from those who WISH things, but never accomplish them.

You are guaranteed to get amazing results from your Calgary Fitness Bootcamp if you follow the above steps.

Each option has its pros and cons. You have to be highly self-motivated and disciplined to start training on your own. I know this is not an easy option for many of you. Most people have proven that they need an outside “push” or motivation to get their workouts done.

You may be charged up with motivation, zeal, and energy for a few days but then “life” gets in the way, you start getting bored, and things go off track. If this is the situation, you could hire a private personal trainer in Calgary to keep you on track and motivated.

Hiring a personal trainer is a great option but not everyone can afford the price tag. Personal trainers charge from $80 to anywhere around $300 or more for a one hour training session. If a personal trainer is right for you, try check out FRESH! Fitness in Calgary. They have a guarantee on their results, plus they do 30 minute training sessions that will get you twice the results in half the time of a traditional trainer. Plus the 30 minute sessions are much cheaper so you can train more often!

Outside of training and doing it on your own, we are left with the options of Gyms or joining a Calgary Fitness Bootcamp!

I am not against gyms. In fact, Gyms are great option for people who know what they are doing, are self motivated, and have proven they can do things on their own. Gyms have also played an important role in helping promote fitness and health all over the world.

But gym training has its downsides. If you are thinking of joining a gym or a fitness club to get in shape, read on because I have some very good information for you that might make you change your decision.

I’d love to see you in shape, would love to see you reach your fitness goals. But, I’d also like to see you do it the right way. If you had a better option available…would you choose a Gym for your weight training or go for the better option?

I firmly believe that for many people, joining a fitness bootcamp program surpasses all the benefits the traditional Gyms offer. Here are my top 4 reasons to choose a fitness bootcamp than to join a Gym…

Gyms don’t care about you or your results.

Most gyms forget about you once you’ve signed your contract and have locked you into paying their monthly fees. Usually the lower the fee, the less they care. In fact, the entire business model of a gym is to get as many people paying monthly memberships as possible and they actually hope that people DON’T show up! Otherwise the gym would be too packed and people would get upset!

Gyms don’t care if you get results. They merely provide a place to hang your towel and exercise (if you happen to show up). If you want to hire a Personal Trainer, that costs extra, many of the fitness classes also cost extra (except for the boring ones that nobody wants to go to anyway)!

With a Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, you pay for what you get…RESULTS! A good bootcamp will provide a money-back guarantee on your results and ensure that your attendance, progress, and feedback is tracked along the way.

You join a gym to get in shape, so why is it that so many people at gyms never get the results they want…unless they pay extra and hire a trainer? That’s because the model is BROKEN! A Calgary Fitness Bootcamp is the perfect fix!

Calgary Fitness Bootcamps are fun

Your gym may have all the equipment you will ever need and a staff of fitness experts to help you with the exercises, it still cannot compete with the fun environment you get in a Fitness bootcamp in Calgary. One of the biggest reasons people leave Gyms for Fitness bootcamps is that they get bored of repeating the same exercises over and over.

Fitness Bootcamps are not constrained by walls.

You get to work in open air atmosphere (when the weather is nice) and the variety is way better than a typical stagnant gym. Getting out and working in open and fresh air (enjoying nature) is way better than doing exercises inside a boring gym.

Calgary Fitness Bootcamp workouts are time saving.

Our Calgary Fitness Bootcamp workouts are highly optimized training modules. You can’t match the intensity of bootcamp workouts. You burn a lot of calories in the short period. Every day, your body and muscles experience something different and you get faster results. This is far better than waiting for your turn to come to use a particular machine in the gym.

So, now you know that Calgary fitness bootcamp offers benefits a gym can never match. What would you choose, paying monthly dues for NO results, or joining a great program that guarantees YOUR RESULTS!

Calgary Fitness Bootcamp instructor teaches the most common ways Bootcamp participants get injured...and how to avoid them!

Joining a Calgary fitness bootcamp has many benefits. But, many a times people push themselves so hard that they end up getting injured. In this article, I will covera few things in a fitness bootcamp that can get you hurt. Safety is important in all fitness programs, but bootcamp classes often produce higher injury rates. Aside from physical damage they do, injuries can seriously hamper your progress and can have long term negative effects.

Here, in our Calgary bootcamp we do everything possible to minimize your risk of getting injured. The first step is to inform you through articles like this.

So, here are few things you as a participant can keep in mind to avoid getting hurt. If you are prepared for your bootcamp experience well in advance, you’ll avoid most of the common fitness bootcamp injuries.

Wear The Right Shoes

Bootcamp workouts normally include high impact drills, exercises and multi-directional moves. You must wear a shoe that provides good foot protection, traction and lateral support. Cross trainers and trail running shoes are ideal because of the lateral support and traction.

Wearing the wrong shoe or worn out shoes increases your risk of injury to feet, ankles, knees, hips, and low back. Get your shoes right to train right!

Do a proper warm up

Warming up is essential no matter where you’re training, in a gym, with a personal trainer or in a fitness bootcamp. A good warm up will prepare your body for the strenuous exercise. You will also get maximum benefits out of your workouts if you are doing your warm-ups correctly.

Our Calgary fitness bootcamp training starts with dynamic warm up exercises. The instructors always include a bit of mobility, movement skill training and pre-workout exercises so your body can properly adapt itself for the rigorous workouts that follow.

Know your limits

Do not stretch or push yourself too hard. I know human body is capable of doing some extraordinary things but pushing it too far repeatedly is a sure-fire way to injury. With that being said, in Calgary fitness bootcamp you will workout harder than you ever thought possible. There’s no need to worry, we are experienced professionals and will guide you through it safely!

You’re the only one who can tell what your body is feeling. Fatigue is expected and is often more challenging than you anticipated. However, sharp PAIN is never a good thing!

Do not merely push through exercises for the sake of finishing an exercise or workout. If you feel pain, it is very important to STOP immediately and TELL your instructor.

Tell your trainer about your body ailments

A good trainer (like the ones at Calgary fitness bootcamp) will ask you at the start of each session if you have any injuries, aches, pains, or comments since the last workout.

If you feel “off”, are injured, have not properly recovered from the last training session, or are suffering from any ailment that could negatively affect your Calgary bootcamp workout, be sure to provide the details to your instructor in advance. If you are experiencing pain while performing a particular drill, doing a particular cardio exercise or anything, just tell him or her. It is important to keep your instructor informed so the necessary steps to prevent an injury can be taken.

Get enough protein in your nutritional plan

Protein is the building block of muscles. Your body needs more protein as your activity level increases. Ensuring enough protein in your diet will help in faster repair and recovery from exercise and prevent risks of injury by building a solid muscular system.

These tips are the basics you must keep in mind when starting an exercise plan. When you enroll in Calgary Bootcamp Training, here are a few other quick guidelines…

Avoid processed foods as much as possible (eat only whole, natural, and unprocessed foods)

Get 7 or ideally 8 hours sleep each night

Get to bed by 10pm

Drink plenty of water all day, every day (1/2 oz per pound of body weight per day).

So, now that you have the most important tips, and tools to avoid injury in your Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, it’s time to show up, work hard, have FUN, and get amazing results! See you at camp!

Calgary Fitness Bootcamp debunks the most common fitness myths. Check out this article to find out the top 3 myths that you may already believe!

In Calgary, Fitness Bootcamps are getting more popular every day. Everyday I more people join our bootcamp program to get better in shape and lead a healthy lifestyle. With this increase in popularity and demand, a lot of myths about fitness bootcamps in Calgary have been popping up.

This article will try to debunk a few of the myths people have about Fitness Bootcamps. Of course, if you read the FAQ page of our Calgary Fitness Bootcamp site, you will see that these myths do not apply to us!

Myth 1: I have to be in shape to join a Bootcamp

I have been hearing this one for over 2 decades. It’s the same thing people say about Personal Training.

People come to bootcamp to GET in shape, to lose some pounds, to get healthy. As, I have repeated a hundred times, “you don’t have to be in shape to join bootcamp training”. It is the job of Calgary Fitness Bootcamp to get you in shape! A good trainer or instructor will be able to challenge EVERY person to their own personal fitness and experience level.

Myth 2: Trainers will scream in our faces

Here at Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, our philosophy is completely different. You get to train in a fun and exciting environment where you are being continually being challenged to improve your own individual levels of physical performance. Our trainers do not scream in your faces to push you into doing exercises. We encourage and motivate you for exercises.

If you are looking for militant and verbally abusive instructors, there are other Calgary Fitness Bootcamp options that you can look at. Here, you will find that while we are tough and motivate you to work hard, our instructors are friendly and you will actually have FUN working out!

Myth 3: Trainers will force us to do exercises we can’t do

Our trainers are experienced professionals who understand your body and its limits. They work closely with each small group (unlike other bootcamps) and never force anyone beyond their limits.

Many people who are new to high intensity training have a fear of getting injured. This might be true for other bootcamps who employ inexperienced personal trainers and usually lead massive groups of people. At Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, our expert Personal Trainers ensure that risks of injury are minimized as much as possible. We always keep boot campers safety as a #1 priority and we work with small manageable groups. This means you get even more personalized attention from your trainer!

If myths have been holding you back from joining our Calgary Fitness Bootcamp, its’ time you face the happy reality that these myths have officially been debunked! Now all you have to do is take action and get started TODAY!
